No inside pocket, but there is plenty if space inside and feels secure when zipped (please note zip does not run end to end, but covers enough to keep contents discreetly contained).
Bought the black one as well and glad I did :)
However, this bag has been going strong for a full term and has plenty of life left in it. The straps are thick and well sewn to the bag so my daughter has the confidence that it won't break anytime soon. You can also zip it closed so books are protected from all weather. The space inside is surprisingly large and
it managed to hold my daughter's books, pencil case, sanitary wear and PE kit (minus the trainers). Would highly recommend.
